A very impressive eye-catcher on which a Balinese master craftsman has intricately carved a Dragon and Phoenix. The craftsman's family has been carving for generations, as this skill is traditionally passed down from father to son. This could be seen as a type of scrimshaw. Scrimshaw is the name given to engravings, and carvings are done in bone or ivory.
