The book is illustrated with thirty-four illustrations, including folding frontispiece of Victoria Falls, full-page plates, wood-cuts engravings, and folding map of South Central Africa by John Arrowsmith, showing the Routes of the Dr. Livingstone. Published by John Murray, London, 1861. Publishers’ original red cloths boards with gilt design on upper board. Lettered in gilt to spine.

Condition:
Solid and well bound book. Rubbing and bumping to corners. Spine is slightly faded with wear to edges. Internally the book is in very good condition. Signature on the title page of RA Hollins (R.A. Hollins of Mansfield was a member of the Bromley House library in Nottingham). Occasional foxing, or marks to few pages. Pages are clean, and tightly held at the gutter. Inner hinges are good. The text and plates are bright.
