These scrolls feature calligraphy on fan-shaped paper, with the left side of each bearing the signature and seal of the abbot. One scroll reads "Enzan Mugen Seiso," translating to "Distant Mountains and Endless Layers of Blue," while the other states "Rouka Kou Man E," which means "Playing with Flowers, Fragrant Clothes." Each fan surface is delicately adorned with gold leaf, and the scroll ends are wooden. Abbot Tajima Sekiou, born in Tokyo in 1951, succeeded to the Dharma of Takada Myoho, the current abbot of Daitoku-ji. He assumed the position of chief abbot at Nanso in 1995. Ryukosan Nanjo Temple belongs to the Rinzai Zen Daitoku-ji sect, located in Sakai City. Nanso Temple was founded in 1526 by a chief abbot of Daitoku-ji and is associated with legends concerning Tokugawa Ieyasu, including claims of his grave being on the premises.
