Viúva Gomes Colares Tinto is a barrel-aged red wine made by the Viúva Gomes winery in the Colares DOC, in Lisbon (Portugal) with the native ramisco variety.
Viúva Gomes is an old winery located in the Portuguese town of Almocageme (Sintra) that was acquired in 1988 by the Baeta family to age the wines that were made in the town's cooperative. However, in recent times José and his son Diogo have become more and more involved in the entire winemaking process and currently grow their own grapes in 2.5 hectares of vineyards overlooking the Atlantic.
Viúva Gomes Colares Tinto 1969 is a wine that is born from non-grafted vines planted in the typical sandy soils of Colares, on the oceanic coast, northwest of Lisbon. Environmentally friendly agriculture is practiced and the harvest is manual at the optimal moment of ripeness.
In the Viúva Gomes Colares Tinto 1969 winery, it is an old and historical vintage carefully preserved. It is a wine that, after fermentation, undergoes a long aging in exotic wood barrels.
Viúva Gomes Colares Tinto 1969 is an eternal wine, with a remarkable maritime profile and made with the genuine Lusa Ramisco variety. A genuine wine, full of character and long life.
