The Tegamino egg pan was desgined by Alessandro Mendini for Alessi. In designing the pan Mendini was consulted by Italian gastronomy expert Alberto Gozzi. Mendini and Gozzi chooses to produce the pan out of trilaminate that is ideal for preparing eggs in the most efficient way. This was needed according Mendini since he considered himself as a lousy chef that even with fried eggs had one or two mishaps. Therefore, the pot is of course predestined for use as an egg pan, but of course it can also be used to prepare other dishes. About Alessandro Mendini: Alessandro Mendini (1931 - 2019) studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. Afterwards he became a designer and editor-in-chief for several magazines.
