Italo Piana was born in 1930 and I raced between the 1950's and 1970's on hillclimb circuits and road races throughout Italy and Europe.
Piana won three Italian hill-climb championships in various engine capacities and competed as an official rider for Rumi, Ducati, Parilla and Itom, right up to the Yamaha Grand Prix bikes of the 1970s up for auction.
