Following the American Flag figure seen in DesignerCon, the Japanese toymaker has opted to highlight Haring’s Mickey Mouse illustrations to the figure this time around. The figure is entirely monochromatic, covered with an array of quirky patterns, like squiggly lines, swirls and polka-dots, a signature of Haring’s style. But unlike most other works by the artist, this particular one features finer detail. A psychedelic depiction of Mickey Mouse appears throughout the print, showing warped ears, round gleaming eyes, a smiling expression and a polka-dotted shirt. Haring originally made the artwork using ink on paper — the piece is from 1982 and remains untitled. Medicom Toy uses Water transfer technology to ensure unique print placement on each Be@rbrick.
