I remember I had a special affinity towards arts since I was a child always scribbling, drawing all day. Soon, I became an adolescent facing big people decisions, what do I want to do with my life, what do I study next, what job I choose. A well-paid job with no satisfactions? Yes, this is what I chose at first, economics. However, 3 years later I figured something was off and I needed to change fields. I applied to art school and got accepted. I am an emerging artist, got my degree at the Art and Design University in Timisoara, a city that has left its mark on the way I create art. I started exposing my paintings within the expositions organised by the school, and then exposed in private galleries in Romania and Europe. Currently I am exploring the human being and nature from the perspective of our contemporary society of consumption of images, as well as from the perspective of the psychological and philosophical processes we go through. On one hand I am absorbed by the beauty of nature, like Narcis, but on the other hand, I am looking for ways to work with different mediums and try to find alternative methods in order to integrate different images with distinctive meanings to create one cohesive story. Obviously, the colour scheme I use varies from greys/black&white to powerful bright colours depending on the moment of creation and external stimuli. When an image captures my attention, my intention is to pause for a second in front of a it, and take it in. The easiness we capture and immortalize our surroundings nowadays with a camera, and also the multitude of images we are exposed to via the internet/social media, diminishes the importance of each picture. Changing of memories is another theme that inspires me, a change that occurs via interaction with other people over time, but not exclusively. The brain autoshapes these memories. The method I use in this case is the opposite of the previously described one. I sometimes start working on a sketch, but most of the times I start one painting inspired from one image, then I return to older paintings and repaint some parts, repeating the process until I have a clear vision of the final work.
