● About the Artwork
"The artwork explores the tension between preservation and transformation, between the institutional desire to protect art and the inherently living nature of images that endure through time. The museum conservators attempt to contain the overflow, yet the artwork itself seems to resist being fixed or controlled.
The wave becomes a metaphor for cultural influence, capable of crossing generations, geographies and contexts without losing its original energy. What began as a historical image re-emerges as a living organism, continuing to expand beyond its physical boundaries and challenging the limits imposed upon it."

● About the Artist
Nando López (Barcelona) is the founder of Dikhotomy (DKT), an artistic project dedicated to exploring how images change their meaning when they are relocated into new cultural contexts.
His work establishes connections between historical iconography, popular culture, everyday objects, and visual memory, creating artworks that move between irony, visual appropriation, and contemporary reinterpretation.
Through limited edition prints, paintings, assemblages, and object-based installations, he develops a visual universe where the familiar appears altered, generating new perspectives on consumption, desire, identity, and pop culture.
His work has been exhibited internationally and is also represented through various concept stores in Spain, France, Belgium, and Norway. Among his notable achievements are a solo exhibition at Gamla Kraftstationen Gallery (Sweden) and the publication of his artwork “I Am Jesus” as the cover image of Newsweek Polska in May 2024.
