Leírás az eladótól
Chen Wenling a kortárs kínai szcéna egyik legkiválóbb képviselője.
Occasionally called a “magician of magical-realistic sculpture,” the artist is also regarded as a pioneer of contemporary large-scale public sculpture. Through powerful forms, vivid colors, and figures with strong visual impact, Chen Wenling addresses themes related to childhood, memory, desire, social transformation, and the human condition.
Among his most notable series are Red Memory, Happy Life, China Scene, City Bull, and Grace of My Heart, cycles in which the artist developed a personal imaginary that unites references to Chinese culture, observation of contemporary society, and a deep reflection on individual identity.
Chen Wenling has participated in numerous exhibitions in China and abroad and has been repeatedly recognized as one of the leading contemporary Chinese sculptors. He was also the first Chinese artist to receive the Public Art Prize at Sculpture by the Sea’s seventh edition in Perth, Australia, also receiving the honorary title of Chinese-Australian Art Ambassador from the Australian Embassy.
His works are represented in important public and institutional collections, including the National Art Museum of China, the CAFA Art Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, the Doosan Art Center, the National Art Gallery of Korea, and the Melbourne Museum.
Since 2020 Chen Wenling has been represented by Madeinartgallery.
Chen Wenling, Red Memory - Cool
Edition of 100 copies
In "Cool", Chen Wenling translates the human figure into an intense and symbolic presence. The title evokes cold not only as a physical condition but as an inner state: distance, suspension, fragility and emotional silence. The work confirms the artist’s ability to fuse visual immediacy with poetic depth, transforming the body into a universal metaphor of the contemporary condition.
