Herend Hungary – Hand-Painted Porcelain Lidded Vase / Ginger Jar with Bird & Floral Decoration – 17 cm
Description
Elegant Herend Hungary porcelain lidded vase / ginger jar, finely decorated by hand with a rich polychrome design of flowers, foliage and a stylised exotic bird.
The decoration combines pink, green, blue, yellow and red tones with delicate orange-red geometric borders around the neck and lid, finished with fine gilt accents. The rounded baluster shape and domed fitted lid give the piece a classic and highly decorative appearance.
The underside bears the blue Herend Hungary factory mark, confirming production by the renowned Hungarian porcelain manufactory.
Dimensions: approx. 17 cm high × 13 cm wide
Material: Fine porcelain
Origin: Hungary
Manufacturer: Herend
Period: 20th century
Decoration: Hand-painted floral and bird motif
Mark: Blue Herend Hungary mark to the base
Condition: Good vintage condition overall. There is some age-related wear to the gilding and a small area of loss/chipping to the lower edge of the lid, clearly visible in the photographs. No major structural damage is apparent from the images. Please study all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition description.
A charming and very decorative Herend collector’s piece, particularly attractive because of its colourful bird-and-flower decoration and original matching lid.
