A Pair of Stamped Ferdinand Barbedienne Bronze Candlesticks, France, circa XIXème

Each base bears the foundry mark.
The slender, elongated stems lend the candlesticks a graceful and refined silhouette. The finely chased drip pans are decorated with swags and foliate motifs.
The tripod bases are supported by three classical monopodia, each adorned with a lion’s head and claw feet.
A fine example of French artistic bronze work from the second half of the 19th century, this pair is distinguished by its elegant proportions and finely executed decoration.
Some wear and staining consistent with age and regular use.
