Theo Idserda was the son of André Idserda and Coba van der Lee. He was taught by his father but also formed himself. He lived and worked in Bruges, Brussels, St-Kruis and in Hilversum. Theo Idserda became very well-known as a painter, watercolourist, charcoal draughtsman of harbour views with fishing boats and (Bruges) cityscapes, with a preference for polders and seascapes. He worked a lot with a palette knife and his style has been described as romantic realism. He is referenced in the "Lexicon van Westvlaamse Beeldende Kunstenaars Vl" This work is enclosed in a beautiful frame behind glass with a wooden frame. Both the frame and the watercolour are in good condition. Total size with frame: 101 x 79 cm. Without frame: 86 x 65 cm.
