The Ford Seattle-ite XXI was a Scale 3/8 concept car, designed by Alex Tremulis. The car contained new ideas: information fuel cell units, interactive computer navigation, maps and auto-information system and four driving and steered wheels.
The car has six wheels with four steerable at the front and two fixed at the back - such as the fictional six wheeled FAB1 from 1965 and the Tyrrell P34 racing car of the 1970s. The designers felt that this would improve traction and braking. It had an interchangeable front-powered section that allowed the car to be converted into an economical city run or a powerful transcontinental cruiser. All control mechanisms worked through flexible couplings. Steering by means of a fingertip-operated dial.
