Saul Leiter was an innovative and distinctive American photographer and painter born in 1923. He was one of the pioneers of color photography and his images focused on the streets of New York City. His work helped establish color as an important medium in fine art photography, and he also worked as a fashion photographer. Leiter's paintings were often influenced by his photographic style. He passed away in 2013 at the age of 89.
