Rare Ghaznavid Bronze Bowl Circa 10th-11th century AD This bronze bowl of cylindrical profile features gently flaring sides leading to a wide flat base. The broad rim is decorated with concentric circles around the entire circumference. The sides of the bowl are embellished with incised two horizontal bands of dotted decor, that grace the upper and lower body. The Ghaznavid dynasty, which thrived between the 10th and 12th centuries AD, holds historical significance as an Islamic state that emerged in the region of present-day Afghanistan and parts of Iran. Established by Sabuktigin in 962 CE, the dynasty reached its zenith under his son, Mahmud of Ghazni.
