亀井治美（Harumi Kamei）was born in Osaka, Japan, in 1955. She graduated from Saga Junior College of Art in 1976 and went on to work in the yuzen dyeing industry in Kyoto in 1978. She participated in the World Crafts Council Conference held in Kyoto during the same year. In 1981, she joined Kamei Glass Co., Ltd., where she worked in the design department. In 1989, she held her first solo exhibition titled "Harumi Kamei: Fantasy Glass Exhibition" at Kobe Daimaru. In 1991, she exhibited at the Acropolis Art Exhibition in France and was awarded the Bronze Prize by the French government. In 1994, she held another solo exhibition at the Niigata Mitsukoshi Art Gallery. She has held approximately 36 solo exhibitions and travels abroad several times a year. She is currently a full member of the Japan Glass Art Crafts Association and serves as a director of Kamei Glass Co., Ltd. NOTICE
