Nicely carved with black painted pupils, traces of blue pigment remaining behind the ears and on the head, the remains of an old red edged label remaining on the underside of the neck.

Culture: Egypt, Middle Kingdom, 11th-12th Dynasty, c. 2040-1782 B.C.
Condition: Part of a larger figure

Provenance: Acquired just after WWI by the vendor's grandfather Thomas Frederick Salter (1896-1975) who was a dispatch rider and fine furniture dealer who lived in the Bristol area until his death in the 1970s; thence by descent.
