It is intended for the 6542 GMT Master, also known as OCC, Pussy Galore, Pepsi. The watch was designed to ensure that the viewer can follow a second time zone in any weather condition. It originally featured a steel bezel with an insert made of bakelite, chosen for its high readability. It was soon replaced by a steel insert, because bakelite broke very easily and used radium-filled twenty-four hour numerals. This bezel is made of steel and the insert of modern translucent plastic.
