Between 1929 and 1935, in addition to the ocean crossings with the Zeppelin, so-called ‘catapult flights’ were carried out from and to America. The Bremen and Europe steamboats were equipped with a catapult with a Junkers aircraft. To shorten the delivery times, the catapult with aircraft was started approx. 1,000 miles before the coast. Post which was transported via catapult post flight reached the coast 1–2 days earlier than the steamboat.
Rare catapult post letter from the flight on 12/13 June 1932. Sent from on board the steamer with the appropriate sea mail stamp.
Pristine and flawless condition, see scans.
