Spain - Caliphate of Cordoba - Hisam II (2nd reign) (al-Mu'ayyad) 400-403/1010-1013.
Silver Dirham (1.78 g, 22 mm) struck at the mint of Al-Andalus, in the year 401 AH (1010 A D)
Vives 701, Prieto 12b.
In very fine condition. A very interesting piece with all its main parts complete and perfectly visible: year, mint and commissioner of mint at that time. Beautiful silver tones. Decorations in the form of crescents and doves (?)
Very rare. It belongs to the second and short-lived reign of Hisam II, when the fitna or civil war broke out, which devastated all of Al-Andalus and lit the fuse for the disappearance of the Caliphate of Cordoba 20 years later.
