Stampa xilografica (ristampa) - Carta - Toshusai Sharaku (fl ca 1790s) - Segawa Tomisaburo II as Yadorigi - Giappone - Periodo Showa (1926-1989)

Woodblock print (reprint) - Paper - Toshusai Sharaku (fl ca 1790s) - Segawa Tomisaburo II as Yadorigi - Japan - Showa period (1926 - 1989) The first edition of this design was published in 1794. The current print is from a later edition, using the original woodblocks. The measurements of the image itself (excluding the margins) are 37.8 x 25.6 cm. Tōshūsai Sharaku (Japanese: 東洲斎 写楽; active 1794–1795) was a Japanese ukiyo-e print designer, known for his portraits of kabuki actors. Neither his true name nor the dates of his birth or death are known. His active career as a woodblock artist spanned ten months; his prolific work met disapproval and his output came to an end as suddenly and mysteriously as it had begun. His work has come to be considered some of the greatest in the ukiyo-e genre. The print is in good condition. Its margins have been trimmed, there are two remnants of a previous mounting on the back, a few foxing spots and mild soiling. Will be shipped with great care in sturdy packaging to prevent folding.
