He was instructed by renowned professionals such as M. Sharonov, S. Erzhikovsky, O. Sirotenko, M. Ivanov, K. Trokhimenko, and A. Chichkan.
Yanin was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and specialized in easel painting. Some of his notable works include "The Last Leaf" (1957), "From the Encirclement" (1960), "Not One Step Back" (1964), "Countrymen" (1967), "It Was 1918," among others. He began exhibiting his art in 1957.
