Katharina Hormel dipinge scene minimaliste di vita quotidiana con acrilici e foglie d'oro o di rame. Le persone che ritrae sono in giro nella loro vita quotidiana, si godono una passeggiata nel parco, vanno in bicicletta, giocano a calcio, ecc.

Eppure questi piccoli momenti sono quelli che definiscono la nostra vita e che ci fanno sentire felici e realizzati. Vivere nel qui e ora è così vitale per la nostra felicità quotidiana e l'artista vuole mettere in risalto quei momenti trascorsi insieme alla famiglia e agli amici.

L'oro o l'argento utilizzati nei suoi dipinti cambiano a seconda della luce e creano un contrasto caldo e riflettente con il nero, il bianco e il grigio. Eleganti nella loro combinazione di colori, i dipinti di Hormel sono meravigliosamente contemporanei e discreti, ma pieni di vita, felicità e dettagli.

Katharina Hormel paints minimalistic every day scenes of life with acrylics and gold or copper leaf. The people she portrays are out and about going about their daily life, enjoying a walk in the park, cycling, playing football etc.

Yet these little moments are the ones defining our lives and that leave us feeling happy and fulfilled. Living in the here and now is so vital for our daily happiness and the artist wants to highlight those moments spent together with family and friends.

The gold or silver used in her paintings changes depending on the light and makes for a warm and reflective contrast to the black, white and grey. Elegant in their color scheme Hormel's paintings are beautifully contemporary and unobtrusive, yet full of life, happiness and details.
