Earlier this year the famous Pokémon "Pikachu-pole" was revealed in Kijkduin, when it became apparent that the seaside resort was the most popular Pokémon Go destination in The Netherlands. Thousands of players were coming to Kijkduin on a daily basic to hunt rare Pokémon. The scouts requested to take on the Pikachu-pole just as the summer beach season, and the hype over Pokémon Go, were coming to an end. As a result, Den Haag council decided to gift the Pikachu-pole to the Scouting Group 'De Rimboejagers,' who are now putting it up for auction with Catawiki in order to raise funds for the renovation of their clubhouse, Chalet Ockenburgh, on the Ockenburgh country estate.
The Pokemon board is made of wood with a partially metal back and it is in close to mint condition.
The dimensions are +/- 1.53 meters high and 1.25 meters wide.
Kijkduin received a lot of attention from the national and international media when the Pikachu-pole was revealed.
