Superb chess set by David Marshall, internationally renowned as one of the best artists of the 20th century.

Bronze and aluminium.
Artist’s stamp (see photo 16).
Date: 1980

Weight: approximately 6.5 kg
In fairly good condition (signs of oxidation).

More than fifty years ago, attracted by the climate, light and beautiful landscape, David Marshall left his native Scotland to settle in southern Spain and begin his artistic career.
He continues to exhibit his sculptures in galleries in Europe and the United States where he set up a studio in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
