For your consideration is a rare 1920s “Zimmerstutzen” (“parlour rifle”) with characteristic short front barrel and Stiegele type loading system. These unique rifles first emerged around 1840 in Germany for indoor target practice. Even today there is an avid community in Austria and German Bavaria keeping up traditions in several “Schützenvereine”. This double-triggered precision target rifle appears to be fully functional (not tested), has a finely grooved bore in good condition. Butt has thin cracks but is stable. 4mm rimfire. Primer propelled (no gun powder). Shoots Nr. 8 separate bullets (4,35mm). Markings “ML” and number 632. Weight 4,6 kg.
