Twiggy was born in the London suburb of Neasden, as the daughter of William Norman (carpenter) and Helen Hornby. Twiggy became known at the age of 16 for the involvement of her then boyfriend and manager Justin de Villeneuve. After she was pictured in the British Vogue in 1967 she grew into a cult figure and became the face of Swinging London in the 1960s. Her nickname Twiggy ('Twig') she got through her slender, almost boyish figure. Twiggy original hard plastic mannequin head. Icon from the sixties.
