Le Corbusier - Cassina - Armchair (1) - LC1

N. B.: The chair has never been used, and the seat and tilting backrest show no signs of wear. The leather straps on the armrests are taut, as shown in the photos. Chair upholstered in Norman pony-hair leather In 1922, Le Corbusier started a professional activity at the new atelier in rue de Sèvres in Paris with his cousin Pierre Jeanneret with whom he shared research and design criteria as well as a deep and lifelong partnership. Together, in October 1927, they decided to avail themselves of the contribution of a young architect already present on the operational architectural scene at the time: Charlotte Perriand. Together with Charlotte Perriand, the two cousins addressed the problem of the innovation of home furnishings with appealing intellectual and entrepreneurial results. Thanks to Cassina's production contribution, there is still an interest in the conceptual scope and in the quality achieved.
