Helmet of the Parisian mounted Republican Guard, Third Republic - Troop helmet of the Parisian mounted Republican Guard, model used beginning in the early twentieth century, until it was replaced between 1920 and 1930, Third Republic. Nickel-plated steel shell (previously repainted), some scratches but no impacts or dents, bearing the number ‘5172’ at the back, visor and neck rest covered with black leather (some gaps at the neck rest). Full black leather lining. All the fittings are made of brass, head-band depicting the coat of arms of the city of Paris and its motto ‘Fluctuat Nec Mergitur’ as well as the Legion of Honour awarded to the city in 1900. Added crest with Medusa’s head at the top, scarlet plume, 75 cm black mane. Chin straps with scales mounted on brown leather. With scarlet red feather. I am including the other feather with the helmet, Item is as shown in the pictures, shipped via Colissimo with insurance and signature required upon delivery.
