That American comics are a good investment will be clear again this week on Catawiki auction site. At this moment, one of the most iconic comics in the world is auctioned. It is a 1974 copy of The Amazing Hulk (No 181) Marvel Comic. The estimated return is around 10,000 euros, which is more than 40,000 times the original purchase price of 25 cents. The comic strip is so popular with collectors because 'Wolverine', one of the most popular Marvel Characters for the first time appears in this comic. There is interest from all over the world for the comic and the highest bid has already been at 7,000 euros.

Tim Plumbe, comics expert at Catawiki: '' The Incredible Hulk No. 181 is seen as a historic comic by the introduction of Wolverine. Almost all comics collectors in the world want this album in their collection.
The copy in the auction is so valuable because the independent CGC (Certified Guaranty Company) rated this album at 9.8. That means that this comic is still in almost new state after more than 40 years. And that makes this comic interesting to collectors.
