This lot comes from the private collection of Mr. J. Bahamonde who over a period of 20 years acquired his collection from various prestigious dealers and has now decided to downsize his beloved collection. His degree in ancient Near East and Roman Britain archaeology from Manchester University, one of the best in the U.K. and passion for ancient history is reflected in this intriguing and rare ancient figurine.

An extremely rare and in very fine condition stone idol with oval body declining in diameter to the neck, and a head with two eyes, nose and mouth. This is one of those lots that you will fall in love as soon as you posses it. The photos do not do justice to this figurine, and I am sure whoever is new owner will be extremely happy. This figurine is very rare (as per the late Dr. Lambert note). Comes with its hand written and signed note, examined by Professor Lambert (1926-2011) Historian and Archaeologist specialist in Assyriology. Also comes with its old certificate of authenticity from Coincraft, a coin and antiquities shop opposite the British Museum, London. See last photo.

Dimension: 37 x 19 x 11 mm.

Condition: In very fine condition overall, finely carved, some minimal mineral accretion.
