An exquisite example of Japanese craftsmanship, this authentic pair of samurai chest armor originates from the Edo period, showcasing the remarkable artistry of traditional armory. The iron surface is adorned with a rich vermilion lacquer finish, complemented by the intricate lacing in contrasting blue. Inside, the do is reinforced with leather, a testament to its genuine construction designed for durability. The tassets, skirting elements crafted from wood, feature the same striking vermilion lacquer.

Time has left its imprint on these historical artifacts, presenting with various signs of age including scratches, loss of some metal hardware, rust, lacquer cracks and peelings, fabric tears, and deterioration of the leather components.
