Early Orange Slice (model F437) armchair designed by Pierre Paulin for Artifort. Steel frame with molded wooden shells covered with foam and upholstered in an original red fabric. The fabric is in good vintage condition with slight wear and discolouration. The lacquered steel frame shows wear and is light scratched.

Dimensions: 70 (H) x 82 (W) x 82 (D) cm
Seating height: 40 cm

Two identical shells, which together form a bowl to sit in. The armchair was nicknamed Orange Slice because of the resemblance of an orange cut open. The Orange Slice chair was designed by Pierre Paulin in 1959-1960 and was released by Artifort in the sixties.
