Nice collection of 63 postcards signed H. Gervèse (pseudonym of Charles Millot 1880-1959). Series: "Nos marins" and some postcards from "série de guerre" (war series) and from "les baux motifs" (beautiful patterns). Only 4 postcards travelled (1912, 1913 and 1919). Henri Millot produced very many postcards that have been edited and re-edited, which makes it difficult to difficult to ascertain their age. Some circulated in 1912/13, which provides a date and proves their authenticity. The various postcards backsides have been digitized, the oldest ones were published in Cherbourg and then in Toulon and finally by "l'association des amis des musées de la marine" (two periods can be identified thanks to the phone number, one circa 1950, the other one is most recent).
