Robert” A small restoration is visible on the back of the canvas, but nothing obtrusive. Listed artist. Étienne Robert was born in Switzerland on March 29, 1875 and died in Marseille late July 1959. Youngest of a large family, he moved to Marseille where he lived a large Swiss colony. He painted mostly in the Provence but also in Italy, Corsica and sometimes in Switzerland. In the past his works were often wrongly attributed to Émile Robert. The original frame suffered from the passage of time but is still aesthetic and solid.
