The Technics SL-D2 is a very solid record player with an excellent performance that you can enjoy for years to come. As you can see on the pictures, this item is in very nice condition. The player only has slight signs of wear, which is exceptional for a turntable from 1979/1980. The dust cover is in very nice condition and only has some light scratches. The notches that fall in the hinges are also still in very good condition. Comes with an excellent Technics 270 c element and good used needle. The original adapter for 45 rpm singles is included. With the famous quick starting Direct Drive system by Technics, in which the spinning plateau is a part of the motor. This is maintenance free and you will never have to replace a belt. The SL-D2 record player has similarities to the famous SL-1200. This player has the same strong dd motor and an arm with bearings in 4 places with aluminium bearing blocks. The player has servo-controlled speed and is very accurate. Highly sought after in the year 2018 and offered less and less often, certainly not often in this condition. The SL-D2 is a semi-automatic: you move the arm above the record and the platter automatically starts. The arm automatically returns at the end of the record and the spinning plateau stops.
