Brother of the ceramist Salvatore, he was born in Caltagirone in 1928 and was the heir of an old family of vase makers. After studying in Faenza, he returned to Caltagirone in the early 1950s and worked a few years with his brother but in 1968 he opened his own workshop called “Ludici Ceramiche” where he began producing ceramics inspired by the Caltagirone tradition with Arabic and Spanish influences, but characterized by a formal and colour-centered research.
In 1993 the city of Caltagirone awarded him the Andrea Parini prize.
Some of his works are kept at the Museum of Ceramics in Faenza and at the Museo Arti e Tradizioni Popolari in Rome.
