Marc Abel, pseudonym of Louis-Marie Abeloos (Ghent, 1918 - Benidorm (Spain), 8 May 2002), was a Belgian painter, sketch artist, muralist and decorator.
Abel received his education at the Academy of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode with Henri Ottevaere. He then completed himself in Hamburg, Munich and London.
His works show a fauvistic colorite with an expressionistic touch. His favorite themes were mainly colorful seascapes, harbours, landscapes, still lifes, cabarets with dancers, harlequins and masks.
He lived and worked in Ostend and, since the 1960s, in Altea, Spain. He participated in Altea in 1971 in the first competition for wall paintings. In 2004 he received a retrospective exhibition at the Center for Fine Arts of Altea. In the same year the Fundación Marc-Abel y Eveline was founded in Altea.
He exhibited in Madrid, Brussels, London, Paris, Cannes, Marseille, Hamburg, Munich and various other cities.
