Beautiful wooden chair with armrests of the firm D.G. Fischel Söhne, marked Fischel Austria. Wicker seat, webbing. Fischel Söhne originally located in Niemes-Bohemia in the Czech Republic. Later Fischel established in Vienna. In 1913, just like Thonet did, Fischel started making furniture with curved wood, and was quite successful at it. The Austrian architect and designer Josef Hoffman, co-founder of the Wiener Werkstätte, designed many furniture pieces for Fischel.
