Marie Charlot oil paintings were in fact created by Far East painters and sold under the invented name because buyers preferred pieces by English, French, or American artists. The name Marie Charlot was signed on Collectors Corner pieces from 1960 to 1970. Marie Charlot oil paintings were inspired by examples of French or Victorian art that the painters viewed; they then created similar pieces in the same style.
