Early 20th century German porcelain trinket box of octagonal panelled shape, with a removable domed lid. Cobalt blue exterior is decorated with a gilded foliate design and the inside of both the lid and the box are decorated with multi-coloured floral bouquets against a white ground. The lid is hand-painted with a medallion gallant scene depicting a musician serenading a lady.
Porzellanfabrik Friedrich Eger & Co, Martinroda; marked with gold "PM" under a crown to base, a mark that was in use from the 1910's.
