Beautiful English pendulum of the Welsh-Enfield Clock Company; Smiths industry, from grandmothers' time, chimney clock. 8 day movement in an oak cabinet with glass window with round convex glass. Including original wind-up key. This pendulum is antebellum and produced by Smith Industries, a company that has its origins in the Enfield Clock Company founded in London in 1929. The first clocks are produced in 1933. After a collaboration with the Dupont Brothers (door to door sales company). this clock was produced around 1935/1936 with a so-called Abec clockwork. In the Second World War production ceases because the factory is to be converted for military production, after 1945 the company starts with a modest production of mainly watches under the name "Anglo-Celtic Watch Co.
