Colt 1849 (.31 caliber pocket) with custom period rifle stock and revolver chest
Very special Colt 1849 on offer.
The rifle stock was professionally made by order of the owner. It is a quality piece of work.
Except for the wedge, the colt itself has the same number as the drum and the arbor pin:
299990 (1867). Parts of original bluing are present. Stagecoach scene on drum is partially visible (about 30%).
Colt single line New York address clearly visible on barrel. Remnants of original varnish are present on the grip.
Gun does not work perfectly. If the drum is out, the cock works well but with the drum it does not always work, or the drum does not move along. As it was only used for decoration, this has never been checked by the current owner.
The chest is not originally intended for a colt, but it is an old revolver chest, probably for a bacon revolver or the like. The label has been attached later. It fits but the screw on the grip needs to be loosened.
The remaining objects are replicas (including a 3.1 caliber bullet extractor), but nice for display.
