Sam Rachamin is a painter based in Paris, who has exhibited in several galleries around the world. His paintings are part of public and private collections in the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Israel. After the artist was featured in the NY Times, Le Parisian, and a few other local newspapers, Sam's work remains humble, honest, and straightforward. Rachamin values the importance of classical art and the beautiful aesthetics of the old masters, he works in the outdoors in front of the landscape or from life. Many of his paintings draw inspiration from art history but depict modern and contemporary life. This is a uniqu painting. Sam says, "I believe that for a painting to be successful, the artist must be overwhelmed by a visual experience of beauty and wonder." Here my significant other dries her hair almost every time after a shower, one day when the light hit her just perfect, and there was enough of a mess around her I remembered the paintings by Edouard Vuillard's interiors and Pierre Bonnard's paintings of his wife, and I felt compelled to paint this subject matter. I do also appreciate realistic and hyper realistic paintings very much, and so I decided to attempt it, I the end did a few different versions of this subject, I used several different mediums to create it and enjoyed the process. I found it very interesting to have two light sources, one electric which was almost red orange and then we also had the Natural light coming from outside, all this while having this beautiful young lady who her face remains a mystery drying her hair in the most eloquent of ways.
