Percy Harland-Fisher (1867-1944) - Portrait of Mrs Bunce

A fine portrait in chalk and charcoal of a Mrs Bunce, by well known portrait artist Percy Harland-Fisher (1865-1944). The portrait is on paper laid on board. There are two minor imperfections where the paper has been slightly torn, but with suitable framing these would not be visible (see images 2 and 2a). This portrait would look fabulous framed. The work has been 'fixed' with Daler- Rowney colourless anti-UV fixative spray. Percy Harland Fisher was a talented portrait artist from an early age, regularly exhibiting at the Royal Academy from the age of 17, The Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and The Royal Society of Artists, London. He experimented with a wide variety of media and during the 1920s and 1930s increasingly working in pastel and exhibited his works regularly at The Royal Pastel Society. His works in oil have commanded significant prices, notably 'The Sisters' which sold for $40,320 at Christie's in Oct 2023. Please note that shipping costs are not solely the cost of the postal delivery service itself. Included within the shipping price is the work undertaken to prepare the article, for photography, for uploading to Catawiki, for preparation and packaging the article securely and for transporting the article to the postal delivery agent for processing. Also, please consider when bidding on this lot that this artwork is shipped from the UK. Import duties will now have to be paid by the recipient to the Postal Service when the parcel arrives in your country. This will likely vary between 5% and 20% of the sale price depending on your country's Import Rate, so please check this if you are concerned. This is a Tax collected on behalf of your Government and is not an additional fee charged by us.
