Metallica – Creeping Death Vinyl, 12", 45 RPM, EP "Creeping Death" is also a song by the American thrash metal band Metallica. It was released as the lead single from their second studio album "Ride the Lightning", which was released in 1984. The song was written by Metallica's lead singer and rhythm guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich. "Creeping Death" tells the biblical story of the Egyptian plagues, in particular the tenth plague, in which the angel of death kills the first-born sons of Egypt and spares the Israelites. The lyrics vividly depict the events of the story, including the parting of the Red Sea and the destruction of Pharaoh's army. Musically, the song is characterised by fast-paced thrash riffs, intense drumming and powerful vocals. "Creeping Death" is still one of Metallica's most popular and well-known songs, which is often played live at their concerts and is considered a classic of the thrash metal genre.
