About the domain
Located on the outskirts of Pauillac, on one of the town’s most beautiful hilltops and overlooking the Gironde estuary, Château Lynch-Bages owes its name partly to the very old hamlet of Bages and partly to the Lynch family (of Irish descent), which looked after the estate’s destiny from the eighteenth century onwards. Bought by the Cazes family in 1934 and already highly renowned, Lynch Bages took a further step forwards when Jean-Michel Cazes arrived at the helm in 1974. Jean-Michel Cazes invested all his energy, talent and charisma in promoting the estate whose quality and reputation he further enhanced. However, he was to become the tireless ambassador not just for his own wine but for Bordeaux and for the whole French wine industry, travelling worldwide to meet an ever increasing circle of passionate wine enthusiasts. In 2006 he handed over the running of the estate to his son Jean-Charles who continues to maintain its high standards.
About the cuvée
Château Lynch Bages' second wine (renamed Echo de Lynch Bages since the 2008 vintage). This wine is much appreciated for its wonderful fruity character.

About the domain
Château Terrey-Gros-Cailloux's vineyard is particularly well positioned. It consists of several fairly large plots. The largest lies next to Léoville-Barton and Talbot's vineyards; another large plot adjoins Gruaud-Larose, while others rub shoulders with Beychevelle and Ducru-Beaucaillou.
About the cuvée
Due to very high-quality vinification and careful aging (14 months with 20% of barrels renewed each year), the wines are rich, fruity and full-bodied with a good capacity to age.
Saint-Julien:
The AOC Saint-Julien is located in the geographical center of the Médoc between Pauillac and Margaux. It is the smallest Médoc appellation on the surface since it only represents 910 ha of vines (ie 6% of the Médoc vineyards).
The vineyard produces 41,000 hl of red wine each year. Like Pauillac, the vineyards of Saint-Julien are quite exceptional. It is mainly based on soils of gravel, marl and pebbles. This terroir is particularly suitable for Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec.
Despite its small size, Saint-Julien includes eleven classified crus, which represents 80% of the AOC. Among them, the famous Château Léoville Las Cases or the Châteaux Beychevelle, Talbot, Ducru-Beaucaillou. The Saint-Julien have a remarkable aptitude for aging. At the same time harmonious, powerful and fine, the Saint-Julien have a fleshy mouth, ample, beautifully structured, balanced elegant. The finish is long, spicy and fruity.
Thanks to traditional ageing in oak barrels, this wine has a classic, rich suppleness and develops a hint of ripe fruit when it is still young. Recently promoted to Cru Bourgeois Supérieur status in the 2003 revision of the 1932 classification, Château Coufran has positioned itself among the leading crus bourgeois of the Haut-Médoc.
