Silver print, the image measuring 8 1/4x12 1/2 inches (21x31.7 cm.), enclosed in a mat measuring 15 3/4x19 5/8 inches (40x49.8 cm.), with Korda's inscription and date 1987 in ink "Para mi amiga desde Mexico que con tanto amor escribió sobre la historia de esta foto [For my friend from Mexico who with so much love wrote about the story of this photo]" and a printed label "Ampliaciòn del negativo completo de la foto del 'Guerillero heròico' - 1986 [Enlargement of the complete negative of the photo of heroic Guerillero]" all on mat recto. 1960; printed 1980s. The lot includes a contact print hand-signed by Alberto Korda.
The inscription is dedicated to GIULIANA SCIME', who was a worldreknown critic.
Public opinion led Korda back to the famous portrait only in 1988, when Giuliana Scimè edited Momenti of history, his first solo show in Italy.
