Our collection of bamboo design lamps are made from the natural material bamboo, in an organic shape. With their undulating forms and fascinating curvatures, these lights bounce light into the room like no other. The design method and materials go hand in hand with our belief that luxurious home decor can also be sustainable. UDARA, LAMPSHADES LIGHTING UP THE SKY In the Indonesian language, ‘Udara’ stands for sky or air. For this reason, we named our hanging lampshades the 'Udara' collection. At night the Udara lamp shades light up the sky, and during the day they are a sublime centerpiece. The mix of natural bamboo paired with the lampshade’s play of light are truly something divine. THIS LOT Offered in this lot are the Udara lampshades 30, 35, and 40cm. OUR INSPIRATION The lampshades are inspired by the tropical Indonesian Archipelago and its incredible shells. They are a gorgeous example of Dutch design, with Indonesian origins. HOW ITS MADE Each lampshade is crafted by hand out of layers of thinly sliced and dried bamboo, creating the iconic ‘Shell’ shape. It takes a handful of men to pull the lampshade into this shell-like shape. DIMENSIONS Just the lampshades: 30, 35 and 40 cm Ø Plafonniere: 10cm diameter – 2.5cm height Cable length: 1.50cm Diameter opening for fitting in lampshade: 4cm INSTALLATION DETAILS ◦ Each lampshade is supplied with a complete European CE certified bronze fitting, black woven power cable, and matte black plafoniere. ◦ Cable length can be shortened manually if desired (we do not provide this service but it can easily be done yourself). ◦ Light bulb not provided. We recommend a bulb from the Philips Deco LED Giant Vintage collection; Any bulb around 35W / 400 LUMEN will do – either Warm White or Flame, depending on your preference. ◦ Fitting size: E27 MATERIAL SUSTAINABILITY Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing C02 absorbing material, which grows in abundance in Indonesia. For this reason, we choose to work with this incredible material. We also make sure that all of our wood is V-Legal certified. This means that it is not illegally logged from vulnerable areas. Since bronze is very labour- and eco- intensive raw material, the bronze fitting is made from upcycled bronze pipelines. Repurposing this existing material saves on Co2 emissions. UNIQUE PIECES Since these lampshades are made out of a natural material, they can vary in colour slightly. SHIPPING The item will be sent with a Track & Trace code via DHL Parcel, DPD or postNl.
